The Routing and Remote Access service failed to start due to dependency service NetBIOSGroup failed to start.

RRAS won’t start because service “NetBIOSGroup” failed to start.
This is due to broken “NetBIOS Interface” service, which provides “Group = NetBIOSGroup”.
Import the following .reg file and reboot the server: http://www.css-networks.com/netbios.reg

Hi,
I have a SBS 2008 server with exactly this problem.
Importing the netbios.reg didn’t solve the problem
Where should I look?

Hi. That .reg file is for Server 2003. If you can wait ’til later, I will export the relevant parts from an SBS 2008 machine’s registry for you to try.

Hi. Try this:
http://www.css-networks.com/netbios2008.reg
Please let me know if it does/doesn’t work. Don’t forget to reboot the server after importing the reg file.

(I realise that the Linkage parameters in these reg files will be wrong for other users’ network adapters, but that didn’t seem to be an issue on the machine that I fixed.)
